The bag is fine as hand baggage: even BA's check-in people don't ask me about it. BA's post summer 2006) check-in policy for coach class means I can load the bag at 23kgs and carry it on legally. The bag's clearly neat enough not to arouse suspicion from check-in or gate staff.
